Tahoe Rim Trail Challenge #2 – Daggett Northeast Loop (Upper Loop)
My hike on the trail was lots of fun. We hiked 7 miles as part of the Tahoe Rim trail challenge. This was challenge #2. My favorite part was walking up to Castle Rock. Let’s start from the beginning. First, we woke up about 6:45 and had strawberry pancakes. And then left. When we were almost there we stopped and got a Jamba Juice and a sweatshirt. It was an unexpected purchase as we did not think we would need one because it was supposed to be hot but it was freezing. Once we started on the trail it was up hill and
then it flattened out. It did not take long before we saw beautiful Lake Tahoe. We just kept walking and talking usual day stuff and saw lots of chipmunks. It was not very sunny and the trail was marked well. Always look for the loop and Tahoe Rim Trail signs.
Then we got to an extra trail and went up it. It was called Castle Rock. It was a steep climb but when we got to the top it was super pretty seeing the lake. We sat down and had lunch and then went to finish the trail. Once we finished we got to the parking lot and went to the soda fountain nearby. I had a vanilla bacon syrup waffle cone ice cream. My advice to you is have a great attitude, stretch, take lots of food and water. I would rate this an easy hike.
